What is a Market Card?

A market card is a way to invest in the farm by pre-purchasing your produce, similar to a traditional CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Unlike a CSA, this allows you to purchase a variety of amounts and visit the market on your own schedule. Think of it as a Killeen Corssroads Farm grocery gift card that lets you support the farm while helping your budget stretch further.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions

How is a Market Card similar to a CSA?

CSA stands for community-supported agriculture, and at its core, is a way for community members to pledge their support to a local farm by purchasing shares of the farm's produce upfront. A market card works similarly in that you are purchasing up front, but instead of a set weekly pickup where the produce is chosen for you, you can come to the market when it is convenient and choose whatever produce you would like.

What are the benefits of purchasing a Market Card?

When you purchase one of our market cards, you will receive an additional 10% of the purchase value. So, a $50 card purchase gives you $55 in purchasing power in our farm market, and a $500 card gets you the best value of all - $550!

What can I purchase in the market with my Market Card?

Your market card can be used for any food item in the market (including our produce, off-farm produce, jams and butters, pickled and fermented foods, eggs, meat, and dry goods) but cannot be used for events or non-food items (ex: soap, art, pottery, mugs).

Will my Market Card balance expire?

There is no expiration date for our market cards, although we do encourage you to use up your balance during the summer and early fall. Our market generally tapers off beginning in late November and will close for winter break by December. Remaining balances will transfer and can be used the following season.

How do I use my Market Card?

Market cards are paper cards that you will use to keep track of your own balance. Cards will be stored in a labeled box, in alphabetical order by last name, at the self-checkout. You will check out in the market using Square, and then mark the date and your remaining balance on your card. Cards will be kept in alphabetical order for organization. Please make sure to put your card back in the appropriate spot.
