Breana Lai Killeen

Breana thought she'd become a doctor like her parents but as an undergrad at Emory University in Atlanta, she found herself spending a lot more time reading food magazines and cooking for friends and her tennis teammates than studying biology.

She followed that passion to Le Cordon Bleu London for a culinary degree and the Wine Spirit & Education Trust for a sommelier certification. After working in fine dining, she headed back to the classroom at UNC-Chapel Hill to get a Master’s in Public Health Nutrition and become a Registered Dietitian.

Catering, meal prep for clients, teaching cooking classes and running a diabetes program followed, but then she got a break at a little magazine in Vermont called EatingWell.

After a few years, EatingWell magazine went from niche to the largest food magazine in the country. Breana was lucky to be a part of the amazing team for 10 years as a food editor and the Test Kitchen Manager.

Now, Breana is the Senior Food Editor at Food & Wine.

Farming is her way of connecting her joy for cooking to the ingredients from the land and a passion for feeding everyone. Because is there anything better than getting together for a good meal?
