Breana Lai Killeen


Breana thought she'd become a doctor like her parents but as an undergrad at Emory University in Atlanta, she found herself spending a lot more time reading food magazines and cooking for friends and her tennis teammates than studying biology.


She followed that passion to Le Cordon Bleu London for a culinary degree and the Wine Spirit & Education Trust for wine courses. After working in fine dining, she headed back to the classroom at UNC-Chapel Hill to get a Master’s in Public Health Nutrition and become a Registered Dietitian.


Catering, meal prep for clients, teaching cooking classes and running a diabetes program followed, but then she got a break at a little (at the time) magazine in Vermont called EatingWell.


After a few years, EatingWell magazine went from niche to the largest food magazine in the country. Breana was lucky to be a part of the amazing team for 10 years, first as a food editor and then as the Test Kitchen Manager.

Breana is currently the owner of Vermont Culinary Creative LLC where she creates videos, recipes, articles, and presentations for brands such as EatingWell, AllRecipes, Cabot Creamery, Hello Fresh, the National Dairy Council, and the National Beef Council. 


Farming is her way of connecting her joy for cooking to the ingredients from the land and a passion for feeding everyone. Because is there anything better than getting together for a good meal?
